Chowderfest is Scheduled for September 30 with Free Bayfront Festival & Vendor Village and Adjacent Ticketed Chowder Tasting
Partnership with community nonprofit organizations continues the 34-year tradition of welcoming fall to Long Beach Island
The Southern Ocean Chamber Association has partnered with the Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean, both 501(C)3 nonprofit organizations, to present Chowderfest making it a full day of live music, local shopping, and a chowder championship happening at the Taylor Avenue Bayfront in Beach Haven on Saturday, September 30, 2023. The event will feature the popular vendor village, live band schedule, beer on tap, seltzers, and delicious food specialties for purchase from 10 am to 5 pm. There is no fee to enter and will feature the Bywatyr Base Camp seating section as well as various activities to spend the day. The rain date is scheduled for Sunday, October 1, but all intentions will be to run this great, traditional fundraising event on the slated date.
This year the Cook-off Classic will return and be presented adjacent to the vendor village featuring eight local restaurants vying for your vote. A red and white chowder champion will be crowned. The tasting will be hosted by the long-standing charity, the Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean with proceeds from ticket sales benefitting (10) food pantries that exclusively service the LBI region.
