Festival Date, Hours & Location​

The free festival will take place on the bayfront parking lot between 9th Ave. and Taylor Ave. in Beach Haven, NJ. There will be 9 food vendors, 50+ vendors, Bywatyr Basecamp seating, the stage and more.

REMINDER: Chowderfest is held the weekend BEFORE Columbus Day Weekend every year.

What is happening at the Festival​

Welcome fall in traditional LBI style as the Southern County Chamber of Commerce heads to Beach Haven to celebrate the end of the Chowder Trail. This is a non-tasting event, meaning no tastings will be occurring. All chowder is for purchase on the Chowder Trail. Select participating restaurants will be at the event selling their chowder along with other menu items. All the participating competitors are on the Chowder Trail where you purchase Chowder. Voting closes Friday, September 30th. 2022 Food Vendors

The free Festival filled in base camp style with a seating area, vendor village, chowder, and specialty menu items for purchase, live music, and brews on tap, and plenty of activities. Leashed dogs are welcome

Please note:

  • There are no tickets needed to attend the gated area where the festivities are officially being held
  • Chowdertasting and voting happen by visiting restaurants directly and voting online through chowderfest.com registration before September 30.
  • The announcement of 2022 Champions in Red, White & Creative will be announced on Saturday, October 1 (rain date October 2)
  • No Alcohol beverages from the festival may leave the gated area – Must be 21 years or older to purchase
  • No outside food or drink is permitted within the gated area
  • Event hours Saturday 10 am to 7 pm
  • Strollers are welcome
  • An enhanced seating area is sponsored by Bywatyr
  • Leashed pets are welcome in all areas but food lines

Application to sell or cook chowder is closed for 2022. Please fill out the below general question box to be put on the waitlist and outreach emails for next year. 

 

This event is intended for well established restaurants in the LBI Region of NJ (Lacey - Little Egg Harbor and LBI) This is not a singular chef entry competition. Cook-Off participants must be Members of the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce.

Official LBI Chowderfest Merchandise​

Online 2022 Pre-Order Sales will run from July 15 to August 26 

Official LBI Chowderfest merch will be available on-site at the festival on Oct 1 for purchase

Vendors

The vendor application process: Opens in May - August or when we sell out. 

As of July 2022, we are sold out of spots for 2022. Please fill out the below general question box to be put on the waitlist and outreach emails for next year. 

Vendors will need to be Members of the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce. This is a localized event hosted by the LBI Region Destination Marketing Organization and Chamber. Yearly membership is $250/$200 for non-profits in addition to the vendor fee.

What forms do I have to provide if selected as a vendor? All vendors must present a copy of a certificate of insurance for a $1 million general liability policy, a signed vendor agreement (provided by Chowderfest), and the applicable vendor fee. Fees are listed below. Sample

How many guests are expected to attend this year’s Chowderfest?
We are anticipating more than 10,000 guests during Chowderfest.

What materials or setup supplies are provided to Chowderfest vendors? Chowderfest will provide all vendors with the following:

  • Access to a standard electrical outlet

  • Nearby security and access to Wifi

Vendors MUST SUPPLY the following:

  • A 10’ x 10’ covered space 

  • Tables & Chairs

  • Fire extinguisher (Fire Marshall will be on-site checking.)

What is the vendor fee? All participants must be current members of the Southern Ocean County Chamber. Chamber membership costs $250 annually and $200 for nonprofits. Join the Chamber.

Member Pricing per 10 x 10 spot

• Restaurants $500 - Serve chowder and approved menu items
Includes 1 10x10 space + electric - Bring your own tent and equipment

• Vendors $300 - Sell your products/services 
Includes 1 10x10 space – multiple spaces available – products/services subject to approval. No "Chowderfest" branded items from vendors/makers are permitted to be sold. 

• Makers $200 - Hand-made craft products
This is the same as the Vendor description above, but we offer a $100 scholarship to our makers. 

• Nonprofits $200 - Spread your mission and sell your products
This is the same as the Vendor description above, but we offer a $100 scholarship to our nonprofit members

$750 - Restaurants - Includes $250 Membership fee
$550 - Vendors - Includes $250 Membership fee
$450 - Makers - Includes $250 Membership fee
$400 - Nonprofits - Includes $200 Membership fee
 
Can I have more than one 10 x 10 space? Yes, the pricing above is per 10 x 10 space, if you select "2" on the form you will be invoiced for the cost of the two spaces. The membership fee is only charged once. 
Getting There & Parking​

This year, we are not utilizing the field but will be in an extensive gated area by the waterfront. Parking on LBI and Beach Haven is free, please utilize street and lot parking as available.
